Dr. Irene Crofton has been all over the United States.  She has studied and worked in Cambridge, Mass.; Chicago, Ill.; and the Bronx, NY. But lately Dr. Crofton has been much more stationary, working closely with elders in the Boston area. Dr. Crofton works for Urban Medical Group (UMG) and provides compassionate medical care at several assisted living communities in the area.

UMG was founded in 1977 with a mission to provide high-quality care to adults, especially to elder adults. Located on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, UMG offers both an office practice and community-based programs. The community-based programs bring care to people who are no longer able to make the trip into the doctor’s office. 

Rogerson House often utilizes UMG’s services. According to Director of Marketing Tara Fleming-Caruso, approximately 90 percent of those admitted to Rogerson House choose UMG as their primary healthcare provider. “We use Dr. Crofton and Registered Nurse Practitioner Laura Butler,” said Tara.

Director of Nursing at Rogerson House Saba Wiggins explained, “The residents really enjoy the services they are provided and the staff at UMG have built respectful relationships with them.”
